Fee: €330. To qualify for the incentive, a collection of three competitors (drivers) must enter as a group. It has to be thefirst time for all three drivers in each group to take part in the Carrick Forest Rally and all entries must be fully paid byclose of entries.

The Carrick on Suir Motor Club are delighted to announce they have teamed up with Cystic Fibrosis Ireland as their nominated charity for the running of this year’s Plasticbags.IE Willie Loughman Forest Rally.

Announcing the collaboration between the Motor Club and charity, Clerk of the Course for the rally, Andrew Purcell said, "Over the last number of years the club has formed valuable partnerships with local charities. On this occasion I'm delighted to formally announce our new partnership with Cystic Fibrosis Ireland. In deciding to work with this charity I was very impressed by the work they do. Cystic Fibrosis is a very debilitating decease and I hope the funds we raise help in some small way."

Craig Breen to carry Cystic Fibrosis livery on 00 Car;

The partnership between the Motor Club and the charity will see Craig Breen carry the Cystic Fibrosis livery on the 00 course car on the April 14 event,

The car, Craig and members of the charity will also be fund raising in City Square, Waterford City on Saturday the 6 of April. The car will then also be in MacDonagh Junction, Shopping Centre, Kilkenny City and in Wexford Shopping Centre in the week leading up to the rally for further fund raising efforts.

Anne Doyle, Clinical Nurse Specialist for Cystic Fibrosis Ireland said, “Cystic Fibrosis Ireland commenced a fund raising drive in December 2012 to raise €250k towards the refurbishment of 4 rooms to provide paediatric isolated ensuite facilities in Waterford Regional Hospital for children in the south east with Cystic Fibrosis. We are very excited to be chosen as the charity partner for this event. The value of this project now and into the future is inestimable for children with Cystic Fibrosis in the south east region.

Craig gives his full support

On finding out about the charity coming on board Craig said, "I'm delighted to see the Motor Club make the effort to bring a charity like Cystic Fibrosis Ireland on board for this event. It's my hope the partnership will raise as much funds as possible. I'll be giving it my full support."

65 Roses National Awareness Week 2013 12th - 19th April 2013

Previously CF Association of Ireland was rebranded this month as Cystic Fibrosis Ireland, is a voluntary organisation that was set up by parents in 1963 to improve the treatment and facilities for people with Cystic Fibrosis in Ireland. The CFI also co- operates with medical professionals to give maximum assistance to both parents and children/adults with Cystic Fibrosis.

We are supported by fundraising and voluntary contributions and are solely concerned with the well-being of people with Cystic Fibrosis.

The Cystic Fibrosis Ireland Provides:

Funding towards new Cystic Fibrosis units around the country, including dedicated in-patient, day care and out-patient facilities.

Advocacy to shape government policy, for example, through the groundbreaking ‘Pollock Report’ on Cystic Fibrosis services and campaigning to improve lung transplantation rates in Ireland.

Funding for medical and scientific research aimed at understanding, managing and treating Cystic Fibrosis.

Funding for specialist Cystic Fibrosis multidisciplinary posts in hospitals throughout Ireland.

Advice, information and advocacy services.

Exercise, Transplant and Fertility Grants.

Regular information updates on new treatments and developments in Cystic Fibrosis, especially through our website and bimonthly newsletter ‘Spectrum’.
